Apple Releases iOS 8.0.2 to Fix Serious Connection & Touch ID Bugs

Apple has released the iOS 8.0.2 update in order to fix the issues introduced into the 6 and iPhone 6 Plus by iOS 8.0.1.

Shortly after releasing iOS 8 to the general public, Apple released iOS 8.0.1 as a minor update to deal with a few last minute problems. Unfortunately, the new software took a turn for the worse, especially for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The two major issues associated with iOS 8.0.1 were a dysfunction with user’s Touch ID and the inability for the new iPhones to connect to cellular networks. In other words, users either couldn’t access their iPhones, or, if they could access them, they couldn’t use them as phones.

When the problems were first reported, Apple quickly pulled iOS 8.0.1 and recommended to users who had already installed it to restore their iPhones back to iOS 8.0.0.

Nonetheless, iOS 8.0.2 has arrived, and in it many bugs have been dealt with, including the issues with Touch ID and cellular network connectivity, a bug linked to HealthKit-compatiible apps, a minor problem with the Reachability feature and third-party keyboards, and several others.

Apple’s iOS 8.0.2 can be downloaded and installed either directly onto the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch via a Wi-Fi connection, or via iTunes by connecting the device directly to the computer.
