Amazon Prime to Offer Streaming Music as Part of Membership

During my favorite infomercials of the past, you always heard, “But wait, there’s more!” Amazon is heeding that mantra with adding yet another service to their Amazon Prime membership this summer; streaming music.

Stepping into the streaming music service, Amazon hopes to do battle with such companies as Google, Apple and Spotify. They have already come to terms with Sony and Warner music and a few independent labels.

There is a catch however, as the music catalog will only include titles more than 6 months old. Even then, it will be a limited selection.

Amazon Prime’s $99 annual fee now features 2 day shipping, an eBook library, and streaming movies and television shows. They recently added a multitude of HBO shows, mini-series and original movies to the line-up, as well.

Amazon looks to add this feature by early July.
