2016 Puerto Rican Day Parade Traffic Alerts & Street Closings

The National Puerto Rican Day Parade is happening this Sunday, June 12, so if you plan to drive to or through NYC you may have a hard time.

The parade is expected to run along 5th Avenue, from 44th-79th streets, from 11 A.M. (EST) until 6 P.M. (EST), which means congestion not only for the parade route, but the surrounding areas.

To help you get around easier and find the best route, here is a complete list of street closures:

44th Street between Madison Avenue and 6th Avenue Formation
45th Street between Madison Avenue and 6th Avenue Formation
46th Street between Madison Avenue and 6th Avenue Formation
47th Street between Madison Avenue and 6th Avenue Formation
48th Street between Madison Avenue and 6th Avenue Formation
5th Avenue between 43rd Street and 79th Street Route
5th Avenue between 79th Street and 86th Street Dispersal
79th Street between 5th Avenue and Park Avenue Dispersal
80th Street between 5th Avenue and Park Avenue Dispersal

These closures will be in effect for the duration of the parade, so expect delays; those traveling into the city may also want to consider using public transportation.
