Here are the key matches to watch for:

Women:

Caroline Wozniacki-vs-Sara Errani: match play after 9 P.M. (EST), Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Both Wozniacki and Errani are fierce competitors who have fought hard to get to this round.

They have met twice before, with each of them winning once, but Wozniacki has the advantage this time around after defeating powerhouse Maria Sharapova.

Wozniacki in straight sets: 6-4, 6-3.

Men:

Roberto Bautista Agut-vs-Roger Federer: (match play after 7 P.M. (EST), Arthur Ashe Stadium.

There is not much to be said about Federer at this point, who is playing like a man on a mission and seems destined for the finals.

Agut is a somewhat dangerous opponent, as he has played impressively all year and moved up quickly in the rankings, but Federer should prevail once again.

Federer in straight sets: 6-4, 6-4, 6-2.

Here are the highlights from day 8:

For the women, Serena Williams once again came out on top, defeating Kaia Kanepi, 6-3, 6-3 and Ekaterina Makarova beat Eugenie Bouchard, 7-6, 6-4.

For the men Novak Djokovic beat Philipp Kohlschreiber in 3 sets 6-1, 7-5, 6-4.
