Here are the highlights for round 1 and tee times for the favorites.

Lee Westwood sits atop the leaderboard, tied with Ryan Palmer & Kevin Chapell at -6 after shooting a sweet 65.

Westwood appeared confident and relaxed as he blazed through the first 18 holes: it remains to be seen if he can sustain this style of play the rest of the way.

Westwood will tee off at 1:25 P.M. (EST) with Adam Scott & Jordan Spieth.

Golden boy Rory Mcllroy continued his impressive style of play as we predicted he would, finding himself  just one stroke off the lead at -5 after shooting a 66.

He is still the clear favorite and is the player to watch at this time.

Mcllroy will tee off at 8:35 A.M. (EST) with Martin Kaymer and Bubba Watson once again.

Tiger Woods, on the other hand, played about as badly as many feared he would due to nagging back issues.  He shot a 74 for round 1, putting him at 3 over.

Tiger managed just 1 birdie in the round and appeared a bit stiff in his swing.  It s obvious that he is not 100% and appears highly unlikely he will advance.

Tiger has a 1:35 P.M. (EST) tee time alongside Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington again.

Mickelson, who last won this championship in 2005 shot a 69, putting him t -2 and just 4 strokes off the lead.

Mickelson started off a little shaky but finished strong on the back 9, giving him positive momentum heading into round 2.
